About James and his family

James Detwiler currently serves as Lead Pastor of FBC of Beverly Hills. Born and raised in Kentucky, James holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Divinity degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.

James and his wife, Meredith, married in 2004. The two met while serving as missionaries in Hawaii, China, and Thailand. They continue to serve together at First Baptist Church of Beverly Hills, where Meredith leads the Women’s Ministry. Meredith is also pursuing a Master of Divinity from GGBTS.  The couple recently had their first child, Eden Moriah, in May 2007.
